Originally I had 'brave and daring', an error of haste; only FE uses 'and'. I think it means 'to the point of': bravery taken to the extreme of foolhardiness leads to danger and death. If so, 'in' though most popular seems too weak. With 'to' one must avoid the infinitive for the directional. I am loath to inflate, however, so I will stick with the simple 'to', 'daring' over 'dare' avoiding the infinitive.
