Chapter 16

Attain empty's zenith
Keep stillness firmly
The Many arise together
I observe their return
Though things teem
Each returns and goes back to its roots
Going back to roots is called stillness
Stillness is called returning to nature
Returning to nature is called constant
Knowing the constant is called enlightenment
Not knowing the constant
Is the error that brings disaster
Knowing the constant is being broad
If broad then impartial
If impartial then complete
If complete then Heavenly
Heavenly then of the Way
If of the Way then eternal
Till the soul sinks no danger
